Spread the love

Teaching children about hope is more important than ever before. Hope is a measurable, learnable, and teachable skill that can have a positive impact on your child’s life. Research shows that higher hope is associated with better grades, improved attention, creativity, problem-solving, athletic performance, and higher-quality relationships. It is also linked to resilience against anxiety, depression, violence, risky behaviours, addiction, and loneliness.

Learning hope starts at home, you can make small changes that create big impacts on your child’s short and long-term health. Help your children identify and manage their stress response by teaching them stress skills such as taking deep breaths, focusing on the five senses, and visualizing success.

Inspire a hopeful mindset in your children by focusing on happy habits like ending the night positively with gratitude and acts of kindness, stimulating positive feelings through dance parties, and ensuring they eat healthily fruits and vegetables. Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, goals and encourage your children to pursue them with inspired actions.

Let’s empower our children with the skills they need to cultivate hope and thrive.
